How To Save Money Every Time You Have Something Framed
(reprinted from an article in our newsletter)

Last time, I promised to show you how The Framed Art Expert saves you money.  So without further ado…

The best way to explain this is with an example, so let's take the example of a law firm.  We do a lot of business with law firms (surprise, yes, law firms often have a variety of items framed), so this is a really good example.

OK, say Attorney X works with the small law firm of XY&Z, LLC.  They are in new office space, and need a bunch of documents, newspaper articles, art prints, etc, framed and installed.  Let's see what this will cost if Attorney X handles this via The Old Way of having pictures framed.

The Old Way

As with the "Saving Time" article last month, start the clock as she begins to load all of the items to be framed into her car.  She makes 4 trips, or two round-trips, to the frame shop and back, plus any time waiting in line.  I think it's entirely reasonable to say this will total 3 hours altogether.

Then, when she gets back to the office, she gets to experience the sheer joy of installing all of the newly framed pictures.  To make it easy on her, we ll say the walls are regular drywall, and since every law office has a hammer, hooks, nails, tape measure and a level handy, she's all set (realizing it could also be wood paneling, or poured concrete, or plaster walls…just sayin ).  So let's say they had 6 pictures framed, and it takes her an extra hour to make the decisions on where to hang them and then get them up on the walls.

Now, her time is billed to the clients of the firm at a rate of $250 per hour (I can assure you from personal experience, this is a conservative figure…ask any lawyer).  So that's 3 hours of travel (and waiting) time, and 1 hour of installation time.  With The Old Way of framing, at $250/hr, her 6 pieces have already cost her, or cost her firm, $1000  total, because that's how much the firm lost in billable hours.

Lawyers are an easy example, because many of them bill by the hour.  But you certainly don't have to be an attorney to save money.  No matter where you are, or what your business, your time is valuable.  Tell us what your time's worth, and we'll tell you how much money we can save you.  And we haven't even talked about framing yet.  So let's.

Regular frame shops have retail locations, storefronts, galleries, etc, and this retail space is EXPENSIVE.  It's not at all unusual for a retail frame shop to drop $4000/month in rent, and that's before they can even turn on the lights.  Now for any business to make a profit, every bit of the cost of doing business must be passed on to the customer.  In this case, a part of the price for each picture Attorney X will have framed will go to pay for premium retail space at the frame shop.

The New Way

Overhead for The Framed Art Expert is much lower than any retail frame shop, because we don t have one.  Of course we have a full-service manufacturing facility, but it's in much less expensive floorspace.  Since we come to our clients'  locations, and design everything on-site, we don't need any retail space.  So we save you huge on overhead, and we save you huge on the cost of your time by coming to you.

And while we're saving our clients big bucks, The Framed Art Expert is also creating top quality framed pictures, and delivering over-the-top, courteous, dependable service, from on-site design through installation (included free of charge for everything we frame).  If you're a client, you already know.  And if you're not yet a client, try us--we think you'll agree…Pictures Plus Incorporated IS The Framed Art Expert.
